A Northville homeowner needed a complete exterior overhaul to update her colonial-style house, which was built in 1983. Specifically, the original siding and old roof dated the home. The homeowner also desired a front porch portico to add beauty and functionality. The customer chose John McCarter Construction because the company was highly recommended by her neighbors who had already worked with us. She did seek bids from two other companies but noted the high quality of service that we provide.
Bringing a Home “Out of the 1980s”
In preparation for the overhaul, our sales consultant met multiple times with the homeowner to ensure he understood her needs and desires and to answer any questions or concerns ahead of construction. Ultimately, the customer selected James Hardie siding for its beauty and durability. James Hardie fiber cement siding can withstand harsh Michigan winters; protects homes against wind, fire, and pests; and does not warp or rot.
For the roof, she chose GAF roofing because it is both hard-wearing and energy-efficient. The final proposal also included a portico porch, new gutters, and an updated garage door. Working in tandem with our color consultant, the Northville resident decided on siding in Light Mist and Arctic White, and a Charcoal roof.
Although the design phase for the porch was time-consuming, our extensive communication with the homeowner enabled this portion of the project to proceed very smoothly without any difficulties or challenges.
Gorgeous Results and a Delighted Customer
The customer was thrilled with her home’s new facade and was especially appreciative of the time and energy that we put into ensuring the project met her goals within her budget and that the project wrapped on the early end of the quoted timeline.
