Location: Troy, MI
Renovations: James Hardie Siding, Gutters, Soffit/Fascia, Paint, GAF Roofing
A Troy resident needed a refresh for her 1973, two-story colonial-style home. It looked dated because of the tired aluminum siding and old roof. In addition to no longer being aesthetically pleasing, deterioration on the old roof was causing serious problems with water infiltration. After consulting with friends, the homeowner chose John McCarter Construction, which serves Troy and surrounding areas.
A total overhaul with fresh, up-to-date siding and a new roof
After choosing John McCarter, the customer worked with the company’s color consultant to identify a combination to fit seamlessly into her Troy neighborhood. She chose HardiePlank siding in a Heather Moss hue with Arctic White trim and a charcoal roof by GAF roofing. The company installed OBS boards over the crumbling sheathing as a substrate for the new siding and repainted the entire exterior in the new, more current colors. For the roof, it installed HDZ shingles with new ridge vents and gutters.
Expert installation and a worthy investment
Like so many homeowners who have worked with McCarter, the customer was thrilled with the renovation.
“We made this investment because the state of the old siding and roof was bad to the point of causing problems such as water infiltration, but the aesthetic improvement is shocking. It’s as though we have a new house,” she said.
John McCarter Construction started the project on schedule and finished it in only three weeks, which was earlier than expected. The Troy resident praised the company’s exceptional customer service, including its experienced, efficient, and pleasant crew; and its responsive office staff. Excellent communication between the customer and the company kept the project moving smoothly from start to finish.
